چکیده

Temperature is a key factor influencing plant growth and productivity; however, temperature fluctuations can cause detrimental effects on crop growth. This study aimed to assess the effect of seed priming Camelina sativa L. under heat stress. Experimental treatments were comprised of; including, no-priming, hydropriming (distilled water priming), osmopriming (thiourea applications at 500 ppm), stress (control = 20 °C 32 °C), camelina varieties (7126 8046). Heat hammered as relative content photosynthetic rate reduced by 35.9% 49.05% in 7126, respectively, 25.6% 41.2% 8046 compared with control-no thiourea applied. However, improved root shoot length, biomass production control–no application stress, more improvement variety 7126. Moreover, maximum values gas exchange relations recorded no no-priming that helped improve yield 12% 7126 15% 8046, respectively. Among varieties, showed better performance than producing higher especially when subjected priming. In conclusion, plants mitigate adverse upregulating physiological attributes lead maintain yield.

Seed priming with polyethylene glycol regulating the physiological and molecular mechanism in rice (Oryza sativa L.) under nano-ZnO stress

The present study was designed to highlight the impact of seed priming with polyethylene glycol on physiological and molecular mechanism of two cultivars of Oryza sativa L. under different levels of zinc oxide nanorods (0, 250, 500 and 750 mg L(-1)). Plant growth parameters were significantly increased in seed priming with 30% PEG under nano-ZnO stress in both cultivars. Whereas, this increase ...

The Arabidopsis Phytocystatin AtCYS5 Enhances Seed Germination and Seedling Growth under Heat Stress Conditions

Phytocystatins (PhyCYSs) are plant-specific proteinaceous inhibitors that are implicated in protein turnover and stress responses. Here, we characterized a PhyCYS from Arabidopsis thaliana, which was designated AtCYS5. RT-qPCR analysis showed that the expression of AtCYS5 in germinating seeds was induced by heat stress (HS) and exogenous abscisic acid (ABA) treatment. Analysis of the expression...

The Effects of Seed Priming with Acid Ascorbic on Seed Germination and Morphological Traits of Taverniera cuneifolia under Drought Stress

The species of Taverniera cuneifolia belonging to the family of legominoseae is a perennial species usually growing in the south of Iran. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of the drought stress and seed priming using acid ascorbic (AsA) on seed germination of Taverniera cuneifolia in laboratory and seedling morphological traits in greenhouse conditions. This study was cond...

Development of omega‐3‐rich Camelina sativa seed oil emulsions

Camelina sativa seed is an underutilized oil source rich in omega-3 fatty acids; however, camelina oil is not fully explored for food applications. Its high omega-3 content makes it susceptible to oxidation, which may limit food applications. Therefore, the main objective of this study was to investigate the potential of camelina seed oil to form physically and oxidatively stable emulsions as a...

In Vitro Antioxidant and Anti-rhizopus Activity of Methanolic Seed Extract of Camelina Sativa L

The antifungal efficacy of seed extracts (propanol, ethanol, methanol and sterile deionised water) of Camelina sativa cv. Calena (EC643910) against Rhizopus stolonifer was investigated by agar disc diffusion method. Among all extracts, methanolic seed extract (Disc 3) showed significant activity against R. stolonifer. However, no activity was observed against rest of the extracts (Disc 1, 2 and...
